As a professional bridal stylist, I LOVE bridal hair accessories! Adding an accessory to your style not only elevates your style, but it also sets your hairstyle apart from your bridal party. Choosing the right hair accessory is important because it adds the perfect finishing touch to your overall look! There are a few factors you should consider when choosing a hair accessory such as the style of your dress, the overall theme/style of the wedding, your hair texture and your chosen hairstyle.

• What is the style of your dress?

If you have a more detailed, intricate dress, going with simple & smaller hair accessories will add a subtle look while allowing the dress to remain the focal point. I recommend pearls, or small rhinestones!

If you have a simple dress, pearls are a timeless look that add a touch of elegance to a vintage or modern style wedding dress!

• What is the theme/ style of the wedding? 

If you have a bohemian style wedding I love adding small bunches of baby’s breath throughout any hair style (such as braided styles) or even using a floral crown! For a more elegant/ballroom wedding, comb accessories or tiaras will complement the overall style! If you have a more simple style wedding pearls would be the perfect addition to your hairstyle!

• Consider the hairstyle and hair texture!

Hair accessories can vary in weight and it is important to consider this when choosing the perfect accessory for your style! 

 + slightly weighted accessories are good for:

   - thicker hair in a half up style

    - thicker hair with an updo

    - fine hair in a secure up-style (with a donut padding)

 + light weight accessory is good for:

    - fine hair with an more relaxed updo

     - fine hair in a half up style

In the end, you should choose an accessory that you truly love and that reflects your unique personality and style! Before purchasing an accessory, I highly recommend experimenting with a few different accessories to see which ones complement your hair type and overall look! Ultimately, the right hair accessory should not only enhance your hairstyle but also reflect your personal style and make you feel like the best version of yourself!
