So you have finally found and secured your wedding hair stylist for the big day! Congrats! Next is the hair preview! I want to start off by saying that I STRONGLY encourage a hair preview. A hair preview is not only beneficial to the bride, it is beneficial for the stylist and important for ensuring your wedding morning runs smoothly.

So why is a hair preview beneficial to the bride? A hair preview allows the opportunity for conversation about questions or concerns the bride may have in a more relaxed frame of time. I often hear brides say something along the lines of "I don't think I need to spend the money on a preview, I just want some simple curls, or a super simple low bun!" We see thousands of photos on social media and they look absolutely beautiful on the models. It is so important to find pictures of hairstyles that you love, but they are so many different factors that go in to every hairstyle that is created. Some of the most common questions I always ask at my trials are "How do you typically wear your hair? Do you like volume? Do you feel more comfortable with or without face framing pieces?" . These are just a few important questions to consider. It is very important that the style you choose is tailored to your features and to your level of comfort.

Having hair previews is highly advantageous for stylists as well. I love having the opportunity to get to know my brides and their hair prior to their wedding day. Previews allow me to determine the most suitable products for the hair texture and it serves as an excellent durability assessment. I personally always take notes at the end of every preview to ensure that I perfect the bride's desired hairstyle and the durability on the wedding day. I try to schedule my bridal previews earlier in the day so the style can be worn throughout the day. This way, you can get a good idea of how the style will last on the day of your wedding.

At the end of the preview, all of the products used and details that were discussed are recorded. This allows the morning of the wedding to run smoother giving both the bride and the stylist confidence in the final result on the wedding day. Timing is also determined during the preview as well. I always give an estimated timeline to my brides before I book with them so they have a rough idea of how long the services will take for each guest, but the timing for the bride is almost always adjusted after the trial is completed.

Having a bridal hair preview done has numerous advantages, and I always suggest arranging one before your wedding day. Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion where you want to feel absolutely beautiful, so why not guarantee that it will be the perfect look for you!
