As a professional stylist, I always stress the importance of hair preparation and hair care. In my previous blog post, I talk about how to find the right hair products for your hair and how to use them in order to get the most benefits! Hair care and preparation should start as soon as possible in order for your hair to be in the best shape possible for your wedding day! Chances are, if you have a bridal hair stylist booked, they will share a hair preparation guide with you to follow to ensure you get the most out of your hairstyle! In addition to following the hair preparation guide provided by your stylist, there are a few additional things you can do to improve the overall health of your hair, such as diet, regular hair care routines, and consistent haircuts. The best products to use!

I have focused the last few years on trying different methods to care for my hair, my clients in the salon, and my brides. I have found one of the most impactful things you can do is to eat a healthy diet and drink a lot of water! Eating a balanced diet along with working out consistently will have an amazing impact on your hair growth and overall health! In addition to diet and exercise, taking Biotin supplements also helps with hair growth. With any supplement, you have to be aware of what is in the supplement and ensure it is something you can safely take. After trying many different supplements and reading countless ingredient labels, I have found and tested one of the cleanest Biotin supplements on the market! Truvani has created an amazing multivitamin that is not only clean, but super impactful for hair (and nail) growth! (10% off first order as well!) Consistency is not only important for a diet and exercising routine, but also for hair care routines.

When looking for a good hair routine to follow, it does not have to be expensive! Starting as early as possible will be most beneficial! One of the most impactful things you can do is eliminate or minimize heat use. If this is something that is hard to do, make sure you use a heat protectant and use a light oil or serum after using heat to add some moisture back in! Deep conditioning treatments can be done once or twice a week to improve hair hydration, which creates the beautiful shine! In addition to these practices, changing from a cotton pillowcase to a silk pillowcase will help minimize your hair rubbing as you sleep (Marshalls and Amazon have them for under $10!). Regular trims also help maintain the ends of your hair! Cutting your hair does NOT make it grow faster; it prevents the ends from splitting, which helps maintain the length of your hair.

Consistency and starting as early as possible are the two most impactful components of a successful hair care routine. Investing in a good hair care routine will play the biggest role in how your overall hairstyle looks on your wedding day! Your hair (and your bridal stylist) will thank you for putting in the extra time to ensure your hair is wedding day ready!
